Radio 1 Playlist

The playlists on BBC radio 1 do not really vary as they play a lot of the big hit songs at the time very frequently for example they play the A-list band of songs around a about 25 times a week and then the B-list is about 15 times a week and these list involve around 20 artists/ bands on each lists so that is  a fair amount of the music space/ time taken up by only 40 artists/bands making it quite hard for smaller less established bands to get much of a look in. Yet when they do it is in the middle of the day when most people are at work/ school or university so if they try a new song and people do not like it then it will not get as much hate. However, with this comes less recognition of the bands as the fair majority are not even listening to the radio at that time so if the song is good it will not get recognized,  Due to the fact that people will miss the song. Here is an example of  the playlist on Friday 9th February 2018:

That is just two bands and the more irrelevant at the time the acts are the less they get played or i9n this sense the further they slip down the bands. However the there are two separate bands with the BBC introducing which gets played up to a maximum of 5 times a week depending how the response of the audience that is the list for the new artist/bands and you also have tune of the week which is played the same a the A-list so 25 times a week.
The way in which the genre of music on the more relevant lists in A and B are all modern hip-hop or chart music so this associates  itself with the younger generation of 18-30 as there is no older music is all currant so that it fits with the modern loop. This then entices the younger audiences to listen as it their stereotypical “type” of music that they listen to. Then this playlist only changes when a new artist brings out a new song that everyone is going crazy for so it then slips into the A-list then a song form the A-list falls out and slips down the pecking order causing a domino effect.
